RW: Tell us a little bit about your shop.
PPP: Picture Perfect Papier is a small design boutique, specializing in picture perfect accessories tailor made for you(!), your special event, personal stationary + DIY needs. We are foil stamp experts, lovers of letterpress, paper + handmade goodness and of course, coffee.
RW: Where are you located?
PPP: Our beautifully designed products are produced with love in the heart of the Midwest, in Chicago, IL.
RW: Why did you choose Etsy?
PPP: Etsy seemed a natural fit for a startup creative business. We launched the store in the last quarter of 2014. We hope to add more designs from more of us in the near future.
RW: What are some of your favorite items in your shop?
PPP: We are crazy about the wood paper items (Matches and Door Hangers) and think the wood paper (real wood paper!!!) is perfect for rustic, indie, or upscale parties with a organic feel!
RW: Are your products customizable?
PPP: We can customize, and many of our products on the store are customizable by providing us your names/date to include. But honestly, ALL items are customized by selecting your paper and imprint colors! We can also work with customers on other custom products!

RW: TEll us a little bit about you & your shop
BOF: Hello! I’m Tina Albin-Lax, and I’m a product designer with a passion for rock climbing, a wicked coffee addiction — and bad case of wanderlust. At Better Off Wed, I design one-of-a-kind heirloom wedding cake toppers made from laser-cut wood + fabric.
RW: Where are you located?
BOF: Each piece is lovingly-crafted by me in the heart of Austin, Texas. I live in Austin and do all of my designing + crafting at a stellar public-access workshop called TechShop. It’s a huge playground for makers filled with high-tech equipment like lasers, water knives and 3D printers (heaven!)
RW: What makes your products unique?
Each wedding cake topper serves as a keepsake for generations to come — and can be transformed into a bespoke objet d’art, a framed wall adornment, or even a holiday tree ornament. Best of all — each token arrives in a custom gift box, perfectly-packaged + ready to tote along to your wedding venue. Hello, sweet romance!
RW: HOw did you begin?
I never dreamed I’d become a professional artist + designer — in fact, I started my career as a labor union organizer! — but planning my own off-grid, unconventional wedding inspired me to get into a studio + start crafting with my hands. Better Off Wed was born out of the romance + wild excitement of my own DIY wedding — and in less than a year, it’s bloomed into a profitable business — attracting thousands of sales, dozens of media mentions, blog profiles in Style Me Pretty, Brides.com, Green Wedding Shoes and even a shout-out in Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine, as one of the best wedding cake toppers of 2012.
rw: as an ARTIST, What is your creative process?
My creative process? My husband calls me “the tornado,” if that gives you any idea. I love plunging into all-out, full-on, crazy-town work sessions where I get messy, spread my materials everywhere and dig in for hours + hours.
For my Better Off Wed cake toppers, I sketch out my ideas on paper first, then design them in Adobe Illustrator, laser-cut the wood and fabric, and (finally!) piece it all together by hand. A lot of time, love + attention goes into each and every piece. And I’m pretty sure it shows.
RW: Tell us a little bit about your business.
OSPC: Oh Shiny Paper Co is about that happy feeling you get when you see something that inspires you to go “ooooh shiny!” From letter balloons to confetti to handmade fringe banners, everything we have in the shop are items we would love to have at our own special event. We hope our products give your party that extra dose of happiness.
RW: Where are you located?
OSPC: In the always sunny Los Angeles area, or more specifically, Monovia, California.
RW: What makes your business unique?
OSPC: We have amazingly creative customers and take great care into creating the vision they have for their event. Nothing gets us more excited than seeing their party come together with items we custom made just for them. We also love collaborating with talented bloggers and wedding planners! We’re committed to being accessible to our customers and others in the event and creative industry, which is something you don’t always get from a larger chain store.
RW: Do you only operate via Etsy or do you have a shop?
OSPC: We’re only on Etsy for now, and the Etsy community has been wonderful.
RW: How did you get started?
RW: What is your favorite item that you sell for weddings?
OSPC: Our favorite and most popular item is the “CHEERS” banner. It’s so festive, versatile, and adds so much brightness to any party.
