Serina and Robert said “I do” last fall in beautiful Jackson, New Hampshire on the rustic Christmas Farm Inn. The couple did a wonderful job of incorporating rustic and glamorous elements. We love the unusual greens in Serina’s bouquet (a trend that continues into this year) paired with the smooth texture of lavender callalilies. Serina continues this theme of smooth textures against rough backdrops through her satin, jeweled wedding dress set against the perfectly distressed Christmas Farm Inn barn and covered bridge. The cake, which was iced to resemble stacked pieces of birch tree wood adorned with purple callalilies and pine cones and was topped by a miniature bird’s nest containing two eggs labeled with “Mr.” and “Mrs,” helped to complete the woodsy yet elegant feel of the wedding. During the ceremony, the couple wrote love letters to one another and encased them in a personalized wooden box. They plan to open them years from now and read them together. What a wonderful wedding time capsule idea! Thank you to Matthew Yeaton Photography for the stunning images! We are absolutely loving lace as the new burlap in rustic weddings. And while we don’t recommend being absolutely bedecked in lace (after all, even something as wonderful as lace can become overwhelming when worn from head to toe, festoon your wedding invitations with it and cover every single surface from tables to walls in it), we do adore lace and the old world charm it can bring to your wedding day. Here are a few of our favorite lace finds:

Jonna & David tied the knot this June at a family member’s farm in Poland, Maine. Their stylish yet simple wedding embodies exactly what this blog is about. The ceremony took place in a family member’s backyard and was followed by a reception and dance party in the nearby barn. All of the wedding decorations were created and hung by the family members themselves, and the flowers were picked by the bridal party. We’re absolutely in love with the interior of the barn and wish that we could have been there to share some of the wood fired pizza from Pizza Pie on the Fly’s food truck! Thank you to Suzanne Simmons Photography for the delightful images, and to Andrea’s Bridal, DJ Duran, Pizza on the Fly, and Men’s Wearhouse for their assistance in bringing this wonderful day to fruition.
