This happy couple tied the knot earlier this year in Thompson’s Station, TN. We adore the sweet and simple, homegrown feeling of this rustic wedding that took place at the ranch of the groom’s family friend. The reserved decorations brought just enough pizzazz to the venue to make it a special occasion, while still allowing all of the attention to be on the bride and groom. All of the bouquets and boutonnieres were composed of silk flowers. A brilliant idea, we think, as now the couple can reuse use them around their future house. Good luck to the happy couple, and thank you to Riley Blanks Photography for the wonderful images! To see more pictures from this wedding and more, check out Riley’s real wedding album on LulaWed!

Not only is the rustic wedding theme timeless and charming, but it also allows for incredible flexibility in the type of decor and attire that you choose. One of the areas in which this theme allows for innovation and fun is groomsmen attire. With the laid back feel of many rustic weddings, groomsmen attire is becoming more varied and personalized than ever with vests, sweaters, suspenders plaid and cool materials like leather all making more and more frequent appearances. These quirky styles show off the personality of the groomsmen, but they also in many cases are less expensive than renting full matching suits. Below are some of our favorite examples of how groomsmen are now mixing it up at rustic weddings.

The definition of rustic is simple, and we applaud Carla and Greg for pulling off a beautifully simple wedding that emphasized the couple and guests having an incredible time and let the beautiful surroundings at Laudholm Farm in Wells, Maine, to do the rest. The couple chose to say their vows under an oak tree outside of the rustic Laudholm farmhouse. Late summer roses of pinks and peaches made up Carla’s bouquet and complemented her free-flowing wedding dress and understated gold earrings. Her makeup was light and her hair in a loose Gibson tuck, letting her natural beauty shine through. The ceremony was followed by a BBQ and raucous dance party in the barn. What a wonderful way to celebrate two people’s happiness! Many thanks to emilie inc. for the vibrantly candid photography! To see more of emilie inc.’s real weddings, visit LulaWed!
